At HKK, members are encouraged to participate in volunteer work for the benefit of their own club. Typical tasks for members include, for example:
- serving as an instructor or paddling guide during paddling courses, weekly paddling sessions, and paddling safaris
- serving as a member on duty and/or as a guide at the canoe shed
- serving as staff members at paddling events
- participating in maintenance work on the dock, yard, and club facilities
- maintaining the canoe equipment and paddles
Members are invited to regular general work parties via notices on bulletin boards, email announcements, and the club’s Facebook group.
Work parties requiring specialized skills are organized by coordinating with individuals suited for the task.
